  1. Cut the wood. Cut the 1x8 board to the following dimensions:

    • 2 pieces at 24" long
    • 2 pieces at 12" long
    • 2 pieces at 8" long

  1. Add the shelves. Cut the 2x4 boards to the following dimensions:

    • 2 pieces at 24" long
    • 2 pieces at 12" long
  2. Attach the shelves to the frame. Center the shelves on the frame and attach them with wood glue and screws.

  3. Sand and stain or paint the rack. Sand the rack to smooth out any rough edges. Then, stain or paint the rack to your desired finish.

  4. Mount the rack to the wall. Mark the location where you want to mount the rack on the wall. Then, drill pilot holes into the wall. Insert the screws into the pilot holes and tighten them until the rack is secure.

Your DIY wall-mounted magazine rack is now complete! Enjoy displaying your magazines in style.

Tips

  • Use a saw guide to make sure your cuts are straight.
  • Pre-drill holes for the screws to prevent the wood from splitting.
  • Use a level to make sure the rack is installed evenly.
  • If you're not comfortable with woodworking, you can hire a professional to help you complete this project.

Variations

You can customize your DIY wall-mounted magazine rack to fit your needs and preferences. Here are a few ideas:

  • Use different types of wood for the frame and shelves.
  • Add decorative trim to the edges of the rack.
  • Paint the rack a bright color to add a pop of personality to your living room.
  • Add hooks to the bottom of the rack to hold remote controls or other small items.

With a little creativity, you can create a DIY wall-mounted magazine rack that is both functional and stylish.
